Rodda Combination Rifle
I have come across a R.B. Rodda & Co Cape gun. I can't really find too much information on this and wanted to make sure it was an original manufacture before buying it. I don't have any photos right now but I will try to describe it as best I can to get an idea of it's authenticity.
Here is a link for the pics: http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/cpg1....php?album=119
The right barrel is a shotgun barrel, possibly about a 12 gauge. The left barrel is a rifle barrel and there is good rifling through the entire barrel. It is an underlever break action centerfire with R.B Rodda & Co of London and then it has the info from their Calcutta branch.
It looks to be in very good condition and has a Serial Number on the bottom of the stock near the trigger guard, under the barrels and on on the inside of the front hand guard of 38080.
If anyone can shed any light on this I would be grateful.
I would like to thank everyone in advance for the assistance.

Rodda did not MAKE all the guns they sold, but they sure exported a lot to the Colonies, especially to India.
If you have one with the London address, it was made between 1910 and 1955; previously they had a Birmingham address.
As a gun/rifle made under the British
Proof Lw, it will be completely marked on the underside of the barrels/upper surface of the table. Barrels will be marked with chambering specs and Service loads. There should not be a lot of trouble producing ammo for the Rifle half, but you should be aware that chamber depths on the Shotgun side are emphatically NOT to American standards. The Brits kept to the old 2-inch and 2-1/2-inch chambers LONG after North America converted to the 2-3/4. This is no problem if you have one of those Lee Load-alls; you just trim the plastic cases and pull down a bit farther on the handle.
Nice piece!
Can you post some PICS for us all to drool at?
