Help !- Need help in restoring a 1944 Maltby Lee Enfield NO.4 Mk1* missing some parts

Hey Everbody,

I recently purchased a 1944 Maltby Enfield No.4 Mk1* missing some parts ie. the Front site protector. and also some components on the Bolt head release.
I have attached photos . I research some website and noticed I am also missing the Bolt release spring and bolt release stop.
can someone tell me how to install the bolt release stop since on my looks like previous owner sheared it off or something.

also what was the original wood and metal of the butt plate and was the front site protector is it milled or is it stamped?

The first two photos show the magazine catch pin is flush thus I cannot figure out how its going to hold the bolt release stop in place.
the last photo I got from a website showing the bolt release been held in place so not sure how its been held thus do I have to order an new Magazine Catch Pin and where does one order one ?

I would bet BDL (see add above) could hook you right up without taking a chance with Numrich etc..

What you REALLY need is a little booklet that will show in some detail and illustrate just what you need to know... Might I humbly suggest that you get onto the phone to Brian at BDL Ltd in SC and ask him to send you a little A4 SAIS booklet about the No4 rifle. It's cheap too. It also gives the correct names for all of the parts. Not that it's important in this case as the photo shows us what parts you mean (It's the Magazine catch SCREW!) but in future, by using the correct part name, everyone in the world will understand.

Brian will also, most probably, have the CATCH, head breech bolt that you want too.

Are you certain it's a Maltby, you have it down as a Mk.1* if it is correct it will not have a catch , but a cutout on the rail at the front.
