Peter,
All I can guess at as I'm in the same boat as Hooked on History is that interest in military items, rifles in particular is way up. As the historical interest in rifles goes up, the desire to complete them goes up as well. People aren't seeking rifles strictly to shoot, but to be "historic". Have the rifle, have to pick up the bayonet.

And the cleaning kit, action cover, cleaning rod, sling, font sight cover, capture screws etc.....
The chase is fun but a bit costly sometimes.

I'll pass on the grenade launcher. No interest in one of those.

Almost bought one for a SMLE. Liberty Tree had them and I thought I would pass until I saw a video of launching tennis balls about 75 yards. Wasent ment to be apparently because they were sold out when I checked back.

I am not ,however, responsable for anything before about 1960. After that, if it is bad it is probably my fault.

The 1.5:1 scale bayonet on my avatar - the Infantry logo - was originally a SMLE bayonet then from 1948 until 1993, a No5 bayonet

Buccaneer is spot on with the price, in fact the £100 is a little low, starting I would say is £110. The No7 demands a high price also £120 -£150. It seems the SLR (L1A1) is creeping up all the time I seen a few of these marked up at £60 at the War and Peace show.

Here in Canada I have seen No5 bayonet for well over $200.00.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?
