I thought if the silencer was integral to the weapon then it would count as part of the barrel and therefore not be S5?

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. The barrel on a De-Lisle is 8 1/2", so too short for the UKicon, you could as you say make the silencer as part of the barrel, but then you could not strip it down to clean, to go to the trouble to produce an exact replica you would want to strip it down, plus I doubt the felt that linned the inside of the silencer tube would last that long so would need replacing and I cant remember if the folding stock variant would take the total length under 24" ?

Very easy to build a replica to comply with our rules, but it just wouldnt be a De-Lisle.

And, where can you find a Lanchester Mk.1 rear sight ??? The copies all use the SMLE rear sight. Anyone with a Lanchester they are stripping for parts as a museum I know is looking for an ORIGINAL Mk.1 select fire trigger group.

The very best reproductions of which I am aware have been made by a chap who has posted at weaponsguild and CGN under the board name "mudpuppy". His use a full length barrel inside the casing, of course, to comply with Canadianicon law.
