The seller was apparently banned on the CMP
carbine forum after the debacle with the initial post. While I am not personally a fan of "restoring" them, I do understand the rational, as long as the restorer is honest about it. I personally prefer them "as issued" with upgrades (like my Standard Products), myself (though I would be hard pressed to part with my original, as issued 1943 Inland!) I did have a CMP Saginaw barreled receiver that I partially restored to appearance, but used repop type I rear sight and barrel band. It was a nice weapon with all Inland and Saginaw parts with the exception of the sight and barrel band. I auctioned it with full disclosure on GB and still got $800 or $900, IIRC, even with the repro parts clear stated and photographed. Disclosure is the key.

This is the ultimate end to part swapping
While it may be thrilling to finally complete what you think is the puzzle, someone down the road always gets hosed. Either by some unethical dope or a family member who knows no better. In this case the person who was originally duped decided to unload a pig in a poke on some other unknowing soul. All very George like.
