I should not have but I stopped in the Big 5 in Grass Valley to check on carbines. It was there, a late inland. It is an Israeli import with the serial number stamped in 3/8" numbers, just behind the wrist on the left side. Stock is not original, as a different serial number was roughly ground out, and the new one (matching the receiver) was applied.
It was is Ser#6369050, LAO Type III rear sight and IA Type III band, both of which would be original according to Riesch. It did have an earlier flat bolt and early slide, probably IDF mix-mastering. I did not have an M2 ball round to check the muzzle, but the crown looked even and crisp, with sharp rifling. Finish was the typical overall brown patina, but had character and no rust or pitting.
Price, still $699, which surprises me for two reasons: One, with the hysteria buying, I am surprised that it was not snatched up, and two the way prices instantly inflated, I am surprised it is still $699. Really not bad for a late model Inland, especially in these times!Information
