WTK: M-1A Serial Numbers
Serial number 69XXX, green and white box, any good?
I have heard some of the SA M-1A's had problems with the receivers, wondering if this is one of them?

Take a look at the M14
firing line at M-14 Firing Line Public Forum - Powered by vBulletin. There might be some answers to your question. I know there is an area that will tell you when your M1a was built.

That is a great time period for M1A
receivers. Some of the earlier receivers had a ridge on the bottom that affected their fit in a stock but that was solved in the early 40,000 range. I have one in the 69,100 range that is excellent, made in April 1992.
