P-38 help
My Walther will not close the slide after firing the preceding round.
I have to finish pushing it shut to fire it.
I took it apart, and the recoil springs, are of unequal length [one is about 3/8 inch shorter than the other] and the longer one is twisted like a corkscrew.
Do I need new ones? Silly question isn't it!!!!
Are new ones available here on the forum, or do I go to Numrich

I think you've answered your own question. You can advertise here or just check Gun Parts for a couple. There may be more than that though. Do a careful check against a parts diagram for assembly and anything missing. http://stevespages.com/pdf/walther_p38.pdf

Thanks Jim
I found a new spring set, and that fixed it just fine.

Jim
I have always tried to say thanks when it was earned/diserved.
Sometimes I do not understand how guns are built/designed and I need help occasionally on how to tear them down, repair etc.
I have found this forum to be very helpful, very enlightnening and most are eager to help.
That is why I stick around here. Thanks to all of you guys, your great.
In spite of B. O. and the [new] gun legislation, long live Milsurp, may the old military guns live on for eternity.
