Three bipods used on the MG08/15: 2 standard 'normal' and 'expedient' and the tubular bipod as seen here but often used with the 13 mm Mauser anti tank rifle.

No matter the nation or the uniform, the faces are always the same. Great pics!!

Some of the MG08/15s, 3 of which came from Canada
. You will see some battle damage on 2 and a rare instructional/skeleton example. For deactivation purposes the barrel is removed but if plugged the barrel can remain.

MG08/15 ''feeding''.
The MG08/15 was belt fed by 2 methods. The slide on drum (trommel) which held 100 round belts, although there was/is a much scarcer 50 rd version, or, the most common belt fed method of 250 rds using the same belt as the larger MG08.
