Looks to be an Israeli conversion of a VZ but that just my humble opinion. Interesting bayonet adaptor on the front.

It looks like a Spanish M1943. That D-ring set into the side of the stock, the almost-full-length handguard and dual sling swivels are all present on the M43.
The bayonet lug adapter is so the rifle can use the earlier Spanish M93-pattern bayonet.

The Israeli conversions typically have the cartridge name deeply stamped on the receiver ring perpendicular to the bore. The one in the photo is horizontal along the stock line. All those sling loops and loops are interesting.

I have a 98 Mauser converted to 7.62. It was in Norwegian
service. Converted after the war to the American 30-06 cartridge. no advantage gained except free ammo.

ON the Israeli converts I've come across, the IDF (?) crest would be under that front scope base.

It is a Spanish M98 Mauser. Can't really tell much from the photos, but it is Spanish.

Ok sounds like I am getting closer to what this gun is, and appears to be a Spanish conversion but when I google this, they don't seem to gave the bolt cut out in the stock (see photo)

That is because the bolt handle has been modified for the scope and thus a notch cut into the stock.
