Get yourself a cheek piece for use with the scope, or you'll have a very sore jaw very quickly.
I can't vouch for the B Square version of the no-drill mount.

I definitely will do that.

That's probably one of the scarcer dates for No.4 production.
As far a the B-Square rifle mounts go, I've never seen one that was worth having. The aluminum is barely heat treaed 6061 and just won't stay put. Have seen them fail on everything from Mausers to SVT-40s. The only mount of theirs that I've bought was for a 1911 and it was marginal to poor. The others have been from friends and customers of various gunsmiths. Plenty enough to opine that there's better gear out there. Brian Dick
sells a good one from Fultons', IIRC.

I didn't want to offer my opinion on the commercialities of life but I WHOLE HEARTEDLY AGREE, 1001% with JM in his assessment above. The material is crap and that long virtually unsupported overhanging rail out on a limb at the front is bound to fail. The best telescope mount is the Fulton steel offering from Brian at BDL
Ltd

I appreciate your candid assessment of the scope mount. Is the Fulton mount a "no drill".
I'm not too disappointed about the mount. I got this rifle for a very good price and am looking forward to firing it both with a scope and without.

The Fulton mount from BDL
is a no drill. But don't forget, you're going to have to drill the butt if you want to put the cheek rest onto it! Unless you want to preserve it as-is and stick it on with some strong double-back adhesive of sorts

Couple of pics of the Fultons mount I have on my No4 7.62 sporter/ farm gun.
This mount was second-hand, and I believe that it is an earlier version, the most recent ones seem to have a full Picatinny rail to give more ring positions.

This stock has been refinished, so I don't have any objection to drilling it and mounting a cheek rest. Are reproduction wooden cheek rest available?

That is a pretty solid looking scope mount.
