The fees can be prohibitive and that's why more of us don't do it. There are many hoops for the dealer or broker to jump through so it's expensive. You have to choose a broker or dealer and that will be the first step. You have to work with them on costs.

ok got a response from a FFL dealer that ships to Canada
here's what he wrote ... Fee to apply for export license (covers 1 - 5 different models, regardless of quantity per model): USD 300
Shipping cost to Canada (most likely to your local post office), U.S. Post Priority, tracking no., insured: USD 60

Why does the phrase "blatant rip-off" spring to mind?
I thought the USA
and Canada
were neighbors. Speaking more or less) the same language. Instead, it sounds like they are on different planets.

I have imported many firearms from the USA
to Canada
with no I repeat NO problems what so ever cost of 1 rifle or pistol is 250.00 Canadian +hst +approx. 5% border fee+shipping there is a 6 to 8 week wait for your firearm to reach Canada you just have to make sure that what your importing is worth it usually I can find it here in Canada for less or about the same money if you need more info contact me

It's just how it is Patrick, they don't cut us ANY slack and some things are just plain impossible to get cross border.
