Finally, Finally, Got That Remmie Mosin Nagant

But I finally got the Remington Mosin Nagant. And looks like I got it before Bubba got his stinking fingers on it. Paid way too much, but I've been trying to find an unaltered one for a long time.

Hmm....wire hangers, slightly sanded stock(?) is there an 'import' mark that says 'Made In USSR' on it? Looks like you might have a Spanish Civil War Mosin on your hands. Beautiful rifle, nonetheless!

Nope. It was a Finn captured Remington, they replaced the stock. Remember this is an M91, not a 91/30.

Nice find! Geographic differences are funny, though, in that I've seen about 4 or 5 of those Remington M91s up for sale around here in the last two or three years. I wonder if more of them were imported into Canadaicon for whatever reason? They just don't seem to be valued as much up here either, as they aren't "Russianicon". At least, that's been my experience. I got one in a trade in decent shape a few years back, and tried to sell it for what I had in it, which was about $175, and couldn't move that thing for love nor money. I ultimately came to my senses and just kept it, and am glad I did. I like those old '91's of whatever manufacture. Most of them have such history embedded on them; Czarist marks, later Russian marks, Finnishicon marks, Austrian or Germanicon WWI marks. The things they've been through...........

Well, what I need to do is take both my Remington and My New Englandicon Westinghouse to the range and see which one is more accurate. I would not be disappointed it it ended up a tie!
