The one you have should be OK. Try using ambient light rather than flash. (Outside on a cloudy day is best.) That will eliminate the flash glare. Second put the shutter release more slowly so that you camera can focus before the shutter opens.

BTW, it is considered bad practice to leave a rifle cocked, unless you are about to fire it.

BSA No.4Mk.1 rifles built in 1941-1942 only had a "B" stamped over the date on the left side of the butt socket. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think the M47C production code wasn't applied until 1943 through the duration of wartime production in 1945 and of course post WWII until 1947 on the No.5Mk.1 .

It was only Cocked because i had pushed the bolt home, so i didn't grime up the chamber when i rolled it over for the picture. The only things i keep loaded/cocked are pistols.
As for the pictures my cell phone is what i used on those last pics, i don't have the options you described but thank you anyway.

Just a trick from the "old days" of analogue photography:

Secure a small piece of white tissue (as in "kleenex" type) paper over the lense of the flash element. Basic "Scotch" tape works fine and a single layer of tissue is often enough.

This acts as a diffuser or "scrim" and reduces "hot-spots" and harsh shadows.

If you are using a "real" camera that can trigger an external flash, you can go wild with one or more flash guns and either use a diffuser as above or point the unit(s) backwards and bounce the light off a panel of styrofoam or white card.

And then there is "PhotoShop"................

I wouldn't worry tooooo much Cobra. The major mistake you're making is that of calling a phone a camera when what you really need is a camera!
