Ammo shortage end in sight?

Reloading components are slowly coming back also. I missed the last batch of 45 ACP 230 grn at Widners but got the 185s last month.

Ammo has not been a real problem where I shop however powder is still in short supply in many varieties. I am fortunate that the owner of the local gun shop has been at it for years and is not afraid of buying when he sees a good price offered.

I would bet he had over 2 millions rounds of .22LR when the SHTF, he had several "skids" of it. Well I know he did, he told me so.

Most CF in rifle and handgun are still available, only the slow sellers which are never in abundance are still in short supply.

Around here ammo is on the shelves, for some calibers. I can find 9 Para and .45acp along with alot of other pistol calibers. 9 is going for around $20 us per fifty rounds for white box winchester. I snatched up a 50 round box of american eagle .45acp for around $22 us around a month ago but not much since. Its kept me away from the range for a long time. No .22lr to find, only .22 short and blanks. Last time I saw .22lr it was around $45 us at a nice little gun shop. Thats more than I am willing to pay for 500 rounds of squirrel poppers. I bought some wolf m43 7.62x39mm today for $12 for 40 rounds. I really was hoping to get started reloading my own ammo this year but a lack of powder, primers and brass at affordable prices have shelved that.

Being corrosive the only thing you need to do is clean your guns very well when finished. You can't hunt with it but it is good for "fun" shooting.

I think I have well over 20,000 assorted primers as when I saw this coming I stocked up. Powder is still short so now reloading with some that are new to me however that is OK as I have been lucky finding a accurate load.

.22 who would have thought ? My friend wants to get into reloading now. I told him he should have done so a couple years ago like I told him. Now he can't find powder or any other components. I am also harping on my friends about saving their brass. They say they don't reload but I told them they can always use it for trading. There are some places that will give you credit for your brass. Funny story time ; Years ago when I got into reloading I would scrounge everybody's brass. I would ask of course . Though at the time I didn't own one I went with a guy with an AR. He brought out about a 1000 rounds of .223 all good stuff. This was in the pre- Wolf era . So I picked up almost every case I could find in that hot Desert sun. The time came when I was a proud AR owner, PRE- BAN so I owned the cool ones. I went to check on all that brass I scrounged... My Brothers cats used it as a litter box ! Cat crap and ammonia smelling brass. All junk they also ruined some mint conditioned WWII Cartridge Belts and other web gear.

DUH, brain dead, I bought a case of 1440 7.62X39 for $242.00 tax in.... which works out to 17cents a round.

I agree with Warpig component prices hurt we as a family all shoot 80gn 224 SMK's $250.ooAU for 500, CCI BR-4 $95.00 - $120.ooAU/1000, CCI BR-2 $95.ooAU/1000, Berger 155.5gn .308 varies but up to $72.ooAU/100, AR 8208 varies but @ $105.ooAU/Kilo, 6.5mm 140gn Berger VLD I have paid when things were short $85.ooAU/100

Walmart got a second shipment of 22's, subsonic this time. They lasted about two days.
