    All's well that ends well!! Sounds like you got the best and right deal in the end Alan. Does your L42 have a UIN or unit markings on the chest?

    Pricey guns

    The site had a 1914 SMLE on there a while ago for £1,750. Admittedly, they must be very desirable rifles, but I paid £650 for my 'all matching' 1914 dated SMLE in 2008 and thought that pretty expensive...

    I think the prices are, shall we say, 'rather ambitious'.

    Ouch! HOW MUCH!!!!!!! £1,750 quid. I to have an LSA 1914 SMLE "all matching" and I paid £575 a few years ago.

    But, but, but its now 2014 - the centenary of the start of WW1. everyone is 'jumping on the bandwaggon'
    Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

    No - I've asked the RFD if he has any knowledge of it. All I know is that he bought it in from Ireland (and not from the guy selling all those 4T bits and scopes on ebay recently)

    I'll post pics soon in a new thread.
