Current Bogus Auctions
Just smart enough to let his past purchases 'time out' on GB, so you can't pull the 'Before' pictures back up.
Gives them enough time to get parts shipped in and build these........
I followed the WRA 1,148,163 back on GB when it had a rear adj site 'With Stake Marks' and the usual upgrades.

If I may quote Faulkner on the CSP
forum a few weeks ago in reference to real versus fake push safeties in the market:
"In another 10 -20 years no one will really be able to tell the difference."
Sadly, I have to agree that most buyers will not know the difference between a put-together carbine and an original either. I do share guilt in this because I have bought many parts and it does weigh on me some, but I guess that's water under the bridge.
Sam-T-Bob does some pretty good work. I do applaud your effort to track the known examples but in the end I am afraid it will be futile. ChipS

I disagree. He does clumsy work and is easily spotted.

Stamps on stocks are usually just applied. Flip sights are always new reproduction. Safeties are usually new as are the mag catches and front bands.

Fair enough. But how many years have you been looking at real flip sights and mag catches? You hand a Sam-T-Bob to someone that has not studied the real thing, show them copy of Ruth or Riesch pointing out all of the desirable characteristics and the Sam-T-Bob will look pretty darned good. That's why he has apparently been as successful as he has. I don't disagree that there are many reproductions parts slipped in but they are generally the better quality repro parts and sometimes so good even the experienced eye has to look twice, while the inexperienced eye would never notice. I won't tell him where he needs improvement, but I'll bet he already knows. It's just business. JMHO

I've never bid on any of his stuff for just that reason. Having handled so many original parts over the years, the fakes jump out at me most of the time and his stuff is just too full of them.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

I haven't been collecting for 3 yrs yet. I'm not great at mag catches. I've just handled a bunch of flips and helpful people on these sites have been, well, very helpful.

PT Barnum had a saying about people, I believe. It honestly hurts my eye to look at those carbines. He knows they look terrible to some people. He spends the profit on truly collectible carbines and car restorations I guess.
