I have a tin that has 2 threaded attachment points with the scope screwing to both, is this a mod of some description. It has Case,STG.TEL
No8 Mark 1
BE Ltd OS906A
1941 stamped on it

Certainly stamped correctly and looks right with the original adjustment tool in the lid too, no worries IMHO.

Originally they were ALL threaded in both pillars. But due to slight discrepancies and some brackets not fitting there was a misc instruction (EMER Inst and SL's V-something or other as I recall) that only the rear pillar should be threaded. This was because if you left only the front pillar threaded, it would bring the scope rearwards a tad - where the eye cap would foul the end of the case.
