A cutdown 1918 No 1 Mk III* one of the Enfield gateway drugs, I highly recommend Ian Skennertons Small Arms Identification Series booklet on the SMLE, if you are going to restore it it will save you grief, frustration and almost certainly damage to the rifle. I'm restoring a MLE at the moment and I have learned a lot about its history and various parts variations, order it today. Have fun, you won't stop at one.
