Gibbs selling original No 5's
I just got off the phone with Gibbs, they have a selection of original Jungle Carbines. 44's 45' 46's that they are selling. I saw an article that mentioned it in American Rifleman.
They mentioned that they don't have magazines but I told them that is ok since I bought an extra one a few years ago.
I decided to take the chance and ordered a 1944 ROF with all matching numbers. I should be getting it this Friday. Once I get it I will post pictures of it.
My little brood hasn't grown much in the last few years, only 3 #4's a #1, a #5 two Webley Revolvers and a .22 caliber #2

I like it. I have a few which all look cosmeticly better than that one but yours does have "character", somthing I would not pay extra for but like if the price is right. 44 as well very nice. How bad are the import marks?
P.S. American Rifleman has a short artical on the No 5 Mk 1 in the current issue.

The import marks are under the barrel and not noticable really.
For $450 I thought it would be worth it. Did I mention I am very happy with the bore?

The NRA article mentioned Gibbs along with the wandering zero story. I think the one listed was a 1947 graded excellent with a value close to double $450 if I remember correctly.
And yes you did mention the good bore. Now try her out and test for "wandering zero".

I get a wander Zero with all my rifles when I shoot off-hand! I am horrible at it, I tend to shoot minute of beer keg at 100 yards
The one in the NRA book was not a Gibbs import, too nice.
