Jim, original Thompson barrels were 10.5 inches long (without comp)
Al, It is believed that the Model 1923 Thompson cartridge used the same 18 rd magazine as the Thompson shot cartridge

When I was kid I used to memorize Cartridges of the World, one edition after another. I would literally wear them out. I have lost many cartridges from my collection over the years because of all of the moving and such. I am ready to build my collection back now.
