Inland without the Month only Year
I was in a couple of other forum and came across a Topic from CMP
about some Inlands they have seeen a 44 and a 45 without the Month and there are pics of tbem. The 45 picture was not there no more, but ive been searching for a month on mine '45 Inland and cant seem to find a month. Now did they marked the month very light and besides the name and year are there but very worn, but all i see is the 45, Thanks
Frank

I think it's just a worn die that skipped...

Probably because the die was started a bit more to the left side on some. The last digit of the date is right under the ''M'' in motors where it should be. My 1-44 Inland has the ''1'' so lightly impressed till you have to hold it just so in good light to see it.

Barrels with no date at all are pretty common, but I wasn't aware of those with only a year.

Won't hurt anything as far as I know. It's still all there as they marked it. Hasn't been altered.

I would like to see the whole barrel and hear some provenance. From what I can see I don't even think this barrel is an original USGI barrel. Stamping is very ragged with letters misaligned, and it looks like it was done last month - maybe it was. Possibly a left coast knock-off? JMHO, ChipS
