    Looking for SA Garand 2860035

After a year break, it is time to renew my search for the M1icon shown in this picture. SN 2860035.

It was issued to my dad when he was in boot camp at Parris Island in June 1946. Although he missed serving in WWII, he stayed in the USMCR and was activated for service in Korea. Although he passed away in 1997, I will keep up the hunt.

I have asked CPM to search their files several times - no joy. It is listed in the Serial Number database now hosted on USRifleCAL30M1 under Private Owner, but it is known that some numbers were added by people with less than good intentions so there's no way to know who or why it was put on the list.

I'll be making the rounds of some of the other forums - but feel free to share the story if you care to help in my quest. I can be contacted here by PM or by email at markvolk570@frontier.com. Thanks!!
