Inherited an M1 Garand and it might be an original 1941?

There is only one serial number on an M1 rifle. It's on the heel beneath the maker's name. All of the other numbers are part/drawing numbers.

Thanks, we all know that but were leaving him alone because he's new here...he'll get the idea. But thanks for straightening us ALL out.
