Word meaning needed...
Hi All,
Someone here locally has a Browning 1918 BAR for sale:
NON-FIRING 1918A2 BAR FOR SALE: Comes with belt & 8 mags. Gun is built on a 80% Philadelphia Ordnance receiver and most of the parts are ROT $2100.00.
So, what does "ROT" refer to here?
Thanks!
Russ

Thanks Chris! So Royal Typewriter was a manufacturer of the BAR? Any way to date this rifle?

They only had one contract to produce the BAR. It was for the Korean war, so it will have been made in the 1950’s.
Attachment 70445
The receivers and trigger housings were cast.
It’s probably the one that was at the Port Arthur gun show this past weekend. Indianapolis Ordnance has the rails. I can’t remember what else it’s missing. There was one other part…. nothing big.

Port Arthur Gun Show! Was gonna try and make that but lost track of the date. Last year, there was an older gent there with a couple Johnson rifles that made the local news. Any idea on who that might have been? My FFL dealer said he'd ask around but it didn't pan out...

It’s probably the same man who brings Johnson rifles to the HGCA shows in Houston. He also makes and sells parts for Johnson rifles. He is from Nederland. I will PM you his name and number.
