'Excuse me Marine, you seem to have a stoppage with your rifle.
Judging by the smoke it is possible the ping happened just a millisecond before the photo was snapped.

Just finished rereading Foley's "Vision From a Foxhole" (superb, highly recommended)... he said the most terrifying time for an infantryman is that few seconds when your rifle is empty and you are fishing madly for another clip.
Real men measure once and cut.

Great Book read it years ago. one lesson learned - don't shoot at Germans from behind a barrel of cow urine
