One of those deals where I done threw money at a milsurp before doing research. It's on layaway currently, but it appears to be an 1894 model carbine Mauser-built variant. No bayonet lug, barrel extension for US early 1960's importation purposes, side sling but bottom rear attach point plugged, so likely changed configuration in service. Numbers match, but some look a little dodgy, i.e. several places where the "5" looks it's actually an inverted "2".
Stock has short finger grooves. It also has a few dramas! Nose cap is loose, there's a longish sliver missing just behing the nose cap and there's a split behind the action tang.
That's all the detail I recall.
Question is, where to find a good photo reference, etc? The MKL's carbine is rather newer. Any other suggestions? Olsen's not much help....
