Was there a U.S. state dept. ruling about not allowing sales of gun parts out of the U.S. ?

I find it all very confusing! A couple of years ago Numrich was happy to sell me FN 49 parts directly but last year was told (by Numrich) that some minor parts for a Johnson model 1941 (springs, etc, <<$500) would have to go through an intermediary licensed importer. At the time Numrich wouldn't say much about why but had the impression it was the specific rifle. Got the parts but major drag.

It IS confusing Ridolpho and everyone just posts this stuff all over the world without any thought or care UNTIL they get caught. The big parts houses like Numrich and small potatoes registrants like myself have everything to lose and nothing to gain. The gov't makes all these regulations but individuals, postal clerks and even Customs Inspectors are not trained properly about them and it's a total cluster f--k, (military term).

I'm happy to do the lodging with CBP and postal shipments if you get the sellers to ship the packages here with a proper invoice. I DO charge for the service, (God forbid!). Anyone who needs help please email me direct at
bdlltd@bellsouth.net and not via PM on the forum.
Very good of you Brian. I will be in touch
Cheers
