I have one sitting in Atlanta awaiting CBP clearance "as we speak". It's for a client of course. I would have never paid the price myself for it. Well past the point of ridiculousness IMHO.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Just got one Brian in the UK icon

, the scope is probably worth more than the rifle, but it certainly shoots lovely.
Perhaps its an age thing and the younger breed are fitter, but its a heavy old beast and one I wouldn't want to be on a sniper course dragging around all day
