Baker rifle chambered in .75 Rare or not?

Afternoon all,

I was wondering if anyone has an idea how many P1800 Baker rifles were chambered in .75 before the switch to the smaller calibre?

I believe it was only the initial batch (trails batch?) of circa 800 before various changes including calibre and barrel length were more or less production standardised.

Anyone have any further information?

The answer is probably to be found in one of the books by De Witt Bailey. Which I unfortunately do not possess.

According to this guy, two. Baker supposedly submitted 2 'musket' calibre rifles that were rejected for that reason.

Just to be pedantic it is not a pattern 1776 rifle but an early 19th century Rifle Volunteer civilian rifle made either with some 1776 parts or (more likely) made with parts in the style of the 1776. A nice piece nevertheless.
