I was fortunate enough to see Canadian 2nd world war ace Jerry Billings of Essex Ontario who piloted and stored actor Cliff Robertson's Spitfire fly on many occasions near Windsor Ontario.There is nothing quite like the purr and whistle of the Merlin it gives you goose bumps and makes the heart flutter.

I saw a Mk 9 owned by Don Plumb flying over Blytheswood school when I was in about grade 7 and knew exactly what I was seeing. No one else even looked up to see it doing slow rolls above... Later saw it at the same show I spoke of.
