Don't know how bad it is there, but Priv Partizan is good. Unfortunately here it cost me $125CDN for 80 rds of ball... About three months ago. Great ammo though, great brass too. I'd load for it if I were you...cheaper.

A friend just acquired a more or less as new No.4 Mk.II, apparently "Irish", that was listed at C$1000.

encouraging! It's growing on me... I've been keeping my old CVA 50 caliber Forester on the fireplace but I put the 303 there yesterday and it really looks grand, the light wood matches well with the tile and cream colored brick.
That's about $800 US? been a while since I looked. Not bad. Looks like it's worth what one can get for it

I am assuming you didn't keep the wrap? Markets are hard to assess and in reality, probably auction is the best indicator of what things are worth. If you are serious about letting it go, and have a minimum in mind, then put it on GunBroker with a complete description and REALLY GOOD photos and put a starting bid of what you would be willing to let it go for. If the market in general feels that it is worth less than that, there will be no bids. If the marketplace is higher, then it will go higher. Two people wanting the same thing can drive prices up on things. Note I highlighted REALLY GOOD photos. If you put the gun on with a couple of shitty out of focus cell phone photos, then expect to get a price in keeping with the effort you put in.
In reality, as it stands, we only have your description of it, no photos, and therefore any opinions offered here on its worth are just that, opinions. For the most part, good milsurps are just going to increase in value, and they aren't making any more....
Cheers

If you click on "reply to thread" (as opposed to just quick reply) you can then go to the bottom of the screen and see a tab for "manage attachments" which lets you browse for and upload images from your computer. I think everyone always likes to see photos! I was more referring to if you list it on Gunbroker or some similar place you need to have good photos.

I forgot to answer, no, I didn't know to keep the wrap. I was naive and in my ignorance of how to collect, I allowed it to be unwrapped and I didn't keep a thing.

What you see is what you get.
What you see is what you get.
And what I see is a very fine-looking Enfield No.4 Mk2. No less - but also no more.
So it was wrapped once upon a time - so were they all.
Forget the wrapping - it's gone.
Unfired? They were all fired, at least when proofed.
Unfired since being unwrapped - not provable.
So the value is that of an Enfield No.4 Mk2 in its present condition.
Which, over here at least, could well be up to 1000.

I suppose it would be difficult to prove it hasn't been fired... You have only MY words on this. I've never owned ammo for it, even. If it were valid, I would take the polygraph test, but people always dismiss those.... Sooooo, my reputation and character, as known by my friends, is all I have to back me up on this.... It has never been fired since leaving production.
