    Thanks! I will try to get some good pics of the numbers and such posted. It is serial number 185; all the visible small parts are numbered 85 with the sight numbered 185. I have not taken off the stock yet to see how it is marked.

    Very nice early production carbine. You could probably get twice what you paid for it if you decide to sell, but I'd recommend hanging on to that one.

    Thanks! I am pretty excited. I've had a couple of 96's before, but I've always wanted a carbine. I am going to take it out to the range this weekend. Added a few more detail pics. And ugh . . . nothing like macro photos to show the grime. I still have some cleaning to do.
