Did you inadvertently accept your browser's offer to "Translate this page?"
With Google Chrome anyway it's a pretty small nondescript popup that could quickly be dismissed with an "OK" without much thought.

Once in awhile when I go to eBay, for some reason I see odd prices and then notice I'm on the UK
, AU, or the Canadian
site. One time it was to check on an item on my "watch list" and it had been translated to Spanish, but was the exact same item. I don't know if this was caused by my browser, or by eBay trying to determine my location through the IP address. It hasn't happened recently, though. - Bob

- No, not as far as I am aware. It seemed to happen after I had looked at specific items and "Returned to search results".
I seemed to stay on eBayUK but it appeared to get confused as to whether I was an English or German
person after I was either looking at German items or using a German word.
