Yea, I agree. I'd take about anything over an AR: M1 Garand, M1A
, FAL, AK. I don't shoot competitively, so the desire to achieve sub-MOA accuracy doesn't concern me. It's just that, from everything I've read, if you plan to compete, you have a big advantage going into the competition with an AR platform.

Here Is A Breakdown Of My M1a, Hra Trigger Housing,sa Hammer,hra Safety, Bolt 7790185 Hrt Ca04, 7267064 Sa Op Rod, Nm Front Sight, Nm2a Hooded Rear Sight. The Bbl Is A Non Gi Nm Cal 308. Bkfield Prc Tl U.s. Property M21 Mount. Non Gi Springfield Glass Beded Stock. Number 054xxx. I Do Not Know How Much Of It Is Us Gi, But It Is A Great Shooter, Never Had A Problem With It. I Also Have A Trw Bolt For It.

I bought my SAI M1A
Scout (18" barrel) January last year and paid $1500. After about 800 rounds the gas nut started to come loose. I check it frequently now. Clean it every couple trips to the range and keep it greased. The last couple times out my hand loads didn't want to eject the 1st round but functioned flawlessly after that. After about 3000 rounds it still shoots better than I do. I couldn't be happier.
