Value of 1913 Marine Corps 1911
Hey I have a friend who has a 1911 that is in the Serial number range that was sent to the Marine Corps in 1913. The serial number is in the 36,000 range and it's all correct down to the Magazine. The finish is mostly worn off. But it's just honest wear and it's a nice looking piece. He said he would take $2000 for it. Now if it wasn't a Marine issue it would be worth half of that. But since it is, would it be worth it for that price? I haven't seen enough USMC pistols sell to guage the price on it. Thanks guys!

A friend of mine just bought a 1914 USMC that was in the serial range.
Little of the original finish remained, but the piece had a very nice overall
patina and decent grips. He paid $2,600 and was glad to get it. I saw
the pistol and would have paid the same.
