    STOLEN RIFLES

I thought I'd post on here as a heads up should anyone come across them.
    1) Springfield Armory Garandicon SN 4242011
    2) Springfield Armory Garand SN 3701291
    3) Cartrige Belt Dated 1942
Both rifles purchased from CMPicon with new stocks.
I'm located in MD but rifles were stolen in the Warrenton/Flint Hill, Virginia area sometime in the last two weeks.
    Thank you

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Sorry to hear about that. I'm sure you reported to police the serial numbers to get the guns on the national list. Thieves are often stupid. If they sell the guns to local pawn or a gun shop, often local police have a property recovery unit that requires licensed dealers to record all purchases and hold for certain amount of time and transmit serial number and seller info. At least that is the requirement in NY. If they are a little brighter and sell them privately, there is little chance of recovering your rifles especially if taken out of state. Best of luck recovering your property. M

Make sure you notify all connecting states. As of right now only place to sell is pawn shops. Bars are closed here an gun shows are done. Unless they know a shaky collector.

They aren't fearing Gil. The buggers are just taking advantage of a bad situation. I spoke with an ATF agent in Lexington, SC on Friday who gave me a courtesy call and he told me the same thing has happened in the cities of Columbia and Aiken which are all about an hour from here. I'm out in the country and somewhat low key. I attribute that more than anything to being left alone for 25 years although I've had a few nervous moments with folks that just gave me a bad feeling in my stomach. I might have to switch from my lazy carry Ruger LCP to my open carry, (on my property), S&W 360 M&P revolver. It's a handful with those Winchester/USAicon 110 grain .357 JHP's but deadly accurate and a real crowd pleaser if you light it off! One round is all it takes.

Open carry with that beast will provide a high intimidation factor along with outstanding terminal ballistics. I am going with 90% intimidation factor and 10% signaling for reinforcements.
Good choice. Stay prepared. Stay safe.

Good thought. Two barrels one dedicated to deterrence / protection and one for signaling for reinforcements.

    I love this site.
