Gezz what idiot destroyed such a unique optic. Interesting to see the R&JB marking, maybe your right and there was a reuse of the optic tube for the EM2/X8E2 program?
what did that poor section of sight go for?

If someone has a WorthPoint subscription, we could find out - https://www.worthpoint.com/worthoped...unit-537461071
Tis a shame...I'd still love it, got a cover and no sight for it!

Three screws holding the reticule in. I wonder how they sealed them.
And cold bits of glass and metal fog up quickly in the damp. Not like you could wipe the lenses very easily.
Reminiscent of the (carbon fibre body) sight eventually used on the H&K G36 many years later, and of course of the ZF41.

Maybe the lot of sights that were made for the EM1/2 were one manufacturer, and a supplemental quantity was purchased for the X8E2 program from another manufacturer?
If this was the one from Ebay years ago (too many to be good!) I was the winning bidder, or I won one the same with cut down top cover
the optic was foggy but you could just about see through it and the grat, was faint,
the sight was repaired with an original top cover and a remade cover, I was going to keep it to go with my DP X8. but I was offered more money than was polite (and my X8 was an E1)
it went to a new home in Norway.

I believe the reticles were printed or painted on as most of them are faded out.
I have a (loose) second variation of the sight with a sliding sun shade which i believe is the one pictured in some photos of the EM1/EM2 which doesn't have the stamped cover.
Does anyone have a spare stamped cover? Mine has been squashed slightly.

Is your sight in need of the sheet metal slide on cover, or the action cover with the mounting boss?
