SMLE collection
Hi all,
Thought i would share a picture of some of my current SMLEs. Please forgive me if i have chosen the wrong place to start a thread! All SMLEs in the photo are restoration projects which have taken quite some time to complete now. Wasn't sure if anyone else on here solely collects a particular type/model? if so, would love to see some pictures!
Top piece is my current project, as 43 Lithgow
. Second is a 1904 dated Mk3 and finally a 1938 Mk3 with relic 1907 bayonet i got on the Somme
Regards,
Harry

Its amazing how quickly a collection turns into a horde
Some do, some don't; some will, some won't; I might ...

"...turns into a horde..." Or an arsenal depending who's looking. snicker.
Have a 1942 Mk III* and both bayonets(a 1907 and whatever the short blade one is. Only ever seen the one.) but only because I wanted an Enfield that represented both wars.
"...on the Somme..." As in dug up? Just curious. Good condition if you dug it up.
Spelling and Grammar count!

are you sure of the date order of the rifles in your photo?
Does the top one also need a charger bridge? If that is the 1943 Lithgow
.
Would the 1904 not have a cut off for the magazine?
Thanks for showing us your collection; maybe some more photos of the details if you have time.

No4Mk1 mag in the middle one.

If that middle one doesn't wear MkI** or IP markings, or maybe ConD IV marks, it's been buggered for fair during "restoration". Very few MkI SMLEs got the charger bridge, and it should still be wearing volley sight MkI furniture and a MkI nosecap.
