US Naval ship marking
Back around 2005 or 2006, my friend bought a Springfield 1903 at a GA gunshow, this rifle having been sold by the CMP
. There was a nice TENN stamp on the stock and I told my friend that I would but this rifle as I had an interest in the navy ship markings on 1903 stocks. Alot of veterans organizations had their M1903s replaced or just turned in rifles that were sold "as is" by the CMP. This rifle may have been one of these examples.
After I bought this rifle I decided to replace the stock with a D.A.L. cartouched stock but after some years, I decided that the original stock that was on the rifle should stay on the rifle. Photos show the rifle with the original stock, barrel is SA 3-18 dated with nice boreAttachment 113399Attachment 113398Attachment 113397Attachment 113400Attachment 113401
