Just looking for second opinion that this scope looks correct for WWII military issue.
Does the serial number tell anything about when the scope was made and sent to the military?

I believe that only approximately 200 scopes marked 'Weaver 330' were used on the first 1903A4s before the roll stamped M73B1 scopes came on line
The style of the engraved markings on these early scopes is quite distinctive and I believe a different script
I'm happy to be corrected, but I think this is probably a civilian 330 that has had these markings added

I haven't been able to find another photo engraved exactly like this one.
I have the option to return the rifle, but I want to get a few opinions before I make that choice.
