Thanks for the welcome!
I am not a collector but I do have a nice 1912 Ross .22 Cadet training rifle which I'll give to one of my grandsons next year for his 10th birthday. The original rear "peep" sight has been replaced with a sight made in Nova Scotia which is adjustable for range and wind and works well -- but I would like to obtain one of the original peep sight assemblies; iris, post and knurled bottom screw. Anyone have an idea where I might look?

New member, not a serious collector, but have a M1
carbine purchased thru NRA in 1963 for $17.50. Also have a Springfield 1903 that I "sporterized" about 60 years ago, big mistake! I am trying to return it to original military configuration right now. I have some concernes about just how to re-install the rear sight sleeve, among other things.
Interesting site, looking forward to meeting some of you experts.

Hello
I have always admired service weapons of all branches and have owned a few. I recently purchased a .303 and have been trying to track some facts.
The right side of the receiver is stamped lithgow smtle III 1919, the serial # Is A-29769 I know it was made in Australia
and under the rear sight the barrel is stamped HV, I haven't been able to find out the meaning of stamp
2nd M C on the top flat of the reciever or the shield with AC over B and a star on top. all part have matching serial numbers however the stock is so rough i cant detect the sold out of action arrows, I would appreciate any help in this area of identification as well as other info concerning this rifle, the only other .303 i owned was passed down to me by my great uncle when i was 15 and it had peep sights. both rifles have proven extremly accurate and a dream to shoot.

Greetings,
Jim here, former Canadian army type, I have broken service as I left to pursue the 'shining kit' the RCMP had! That lasted 8 years and I ended back in the army. Now living in the US, met a beautiful young girl from Alaska while I was posted to Fort Lewis WA. For some reason she believed my lies, and here we are! I just got her a Savage Lee Enfield Lend Lease No4 Mklll as one of her birthday presents! Sad.. I know. But she loves it. Interested in Lee Enfields, M1
, M-14s, FN's, Mausers, pretty much anything service rifle.
Cheers!
Oh! And does anyone know much about importation of weapons from Canada
to the US? Most of my gear is still up there.

Hello everyone,
I just started collecting Milsurp arms. I received a laminated stock Izzy Mosin Nagant M44 last week on trade and was so intrigued I picked up a 1944 .303 Lee Enfield No 4 MK1 this week. I ran across this site while trying to decode the Enfield. Tons of great info here!
