G41 (W) Will Not Go Semi-Auto
Good Morning,
Just back from the range and the G41 still is in Bolt-Action mode. The weapon is crazy accurate but I am still not getting the trigger cocked after the first round. Perhaps not enough gas to force the op-rod hard enough to engage the sear? Piston and op-rod look good and work well. I am get great ejection as the cased fly up and out like a mortar round. As suggested, I rerouted the spring and it does not seem to help. I am using fresh PPU 8mm Mauser ammunition.
I do note that the follower does not come all the way up and seems to be blocked by something preventing it rising fully to the top of the magazine. Not sure if this is linked, but I am going to fiddle with the weapon again on my bench.
Beginning to get the feeling I need to ship it to a professional. Suggestions on solving the problem are welcomed. This will be my last try at it. Thanks, Randy

Good Afternoon,
Been there and got just one suggestion. I guess that there are so few owners of G41s out there.
Thanks,
Randy

I fired a G41W many years ago with original German pre war brass 7,92mm, very accurate at 100 yards but really got dirty
after about 200 rds. You need alot of time and space to clean this rifle.
Tom from NJ who often is found on this forum, also had a nice working G41W but always trouble shooting his G41M
