Interesting! I got 3 BRs, the non-matching kind, but got one that matched. A Dec. '44 receiver with a 1-45 barrel. I could only imagine it was included in the $100 group because the rest of it was bad. (Barrel M > 5, TE 7.5 - 8, and the receiver with heavy pitting on the receiver ring face). Cleaned it as best as I could, but I doubt I can salvage the receiver. I may call and ask them what I should do.

Do you mean a 1-45 receiver with a 12-44 barrel? A barrel dated after the receiver would be tough to call correct, not impossible but highly questionable.

I know of a case where a M1903 was sent back to a Mr. Meredith who closely examined said return. Funny story--it was NM '03! They are still laughing about that one at CMP South!
