Pegasus Twin Wing Car Mascot
I don't know if anyone is interested in seeing this, a "Pegasus Twin Wing Car Mascot" which was purchased new by my father in the 1950's. It was fitted to a number of different vehicles between the 1950's and 1970's, the last being a Rover.
It use to be much more common to see mascots on car bonnets when "older car designs" "lent themselves" to being "enhanced" by a mascot. There were many different designs of mascot available on the market, to suit your interest and budget. Possibly the "golden age" of car mascots was in the 1930's but people did continue to fit them to cars post WW2.
The thing that we have today which may put mascots out of favour is safety concerns for pedestrians. If being knocked down by a car isn't bad enough one can do without being "greeted in the face" by a "Twin Winged Pegasus".

Not exactly "Spirit of Ecstasy" quality modelling or molding is it? Cast brass and a bolt mount: yes it would tear you up nicely met at speed! 
No horse has hind legs with that range of motion, so perhaps something was borrowed from a certain leaping cat?
