I found this info on this site. It appears I have a German
mauser that was captured by Yugoslavia
pre-1950 and was refurbished by them. Would this be a German/Yugo mauser hybrid?

They made good stuff, for sure.

Yugo P50
I propose a new name for this rifle. The "Yugoslavian Pre-1950"!!
1. What did the refurb consist of? New barrel...?
2. Does anyone know how many Yugo
pre-1950 German
mausers they refurbed?
3. Were there other non-German rifles pre-1950 that Yugo refurbished?
Thanks,
Mike

There is a book which will tell you everything you need to know on the subject but, unfortunately, it is out of print.
Serbian and Yugoslav Mauser Rifles by Branko Bogdanovic.
I got my copy several years ago second hand online but didn't have to pay anything like what is currently being asked.
Serbian and Yugoslav Mauser Rifles by Bogdanovic, Branko: (2005) 1st English. | Hereward Books

I think that they did what was necessary to make a nice refurb but didn't replace things just for the sake of it. That was the impression that I got from the book.

Absolutely. That was the impression I got from the people. They had lots going on and only did the work needed.

I almost posted that info - or at least the link - here.
