    USMC "Machete, Intrenching

eBay purchase. I've seen a few of these come up before but never this cheap and they say they go for hundreds, so I watched it and sniped it for $135.

Big heavy blade similar in thickness to the USMC Corpsman's knives from WWII.

Made from 1912 to sometime prior to WWII, they were no longer issue items in WWII but I expect some found service from old stocks.

Fun Fact: That Collins and Co Hartford logo was made with the same dies they used during the Civil War to stamp swords. They sat in storage for all the years in between and were used on these machetes and two others at the same time period.

Sort of similar to the post WW2 Britishicon machete with regards the blade.
