    What would be interesting to know is if these early post war items were made for the Western allies, UK/US etc, on a commercial basis i.e. they were paid for or if they were some sort of "war reparations". (Without getting into politics of course.) As I understand it Germanyicon did have to give war reparations to Russiaicon, post WW2, in the form of goods and I have seen it suggested but not confirmed that this included West Germany.

    It's also dated the same way as my German made example which is slightly different to the way British made examples are dated. British made examples, at least all that I have seen, don't show the month of manufacture, just the year.
