We had a member here that was IDF at one point used to set us straight on some of this. He was the one that told us the Carbines were used to defend schools and farms projects.

Perfect little weapon for kibbutzes, classrooms, and field trips.

Okay, now that I am home, I have some pictures of my ate up Israeli K98icon

    Back shot

    Front Band

    Receiver markings (Mauser 1936)

Damged/repaired safety with silver solder, was told this was not an Israeli fix

The telltale sign of Guatamalan imports--rust under the wood

    More of it

The wood was pretty soft as well, the stock needed to be replaced, luckily the correct ones are still out there. Barrel is a freakin sewer pipe. I wanted an Israeli Mauser real bad, and got a real bad Israeli Mauser
