Do any of these .22 cal trainers show up on the SRS list? I have # 11344 and would like to get the letter if available.
Thanks,
Jim

Jim,
From my experience I would say that nearly all the Sales variation 1922M1 and M2 Rifles are on the list. Very few, percentage wise, of the Issue variation are listed. Some confusion is caused by Springfield Armory starting over with serial number one when the 1922M1 was introduced and again with serial number one when the M2 rifle was introduced. The SRS list will show if it is a 1922, 1922M1, M2 or 1922MII. Of course most of the 1922MII's will have a B after the serial number but the B will not appear on the SRS list. One must specify which model is being researched. For instance number 555 could be listed three times, once as a 1922, once as a 1922M1 and once as an M2.
Even thought commonly called "Trainers", the 1922 series were called "Gallery Practice Rifles" by the military. They were NOT used for training of military recruits. There WERE used for training ROTC cadets and members of DCM affiliated rifle clubs. I was trained on one when I tried out for the college ROTC rifle team in 1955.
This is a very specialized niche of collecting and one for which much misinformation appears on the gun forums.

How about mine? Model 1922 MI with an extra / after the "MI". Serial number 1452B (the "B" obviously added at a later time). Any hit on SRS?
TIA!
